HERA Black Cushion + NARS Creamy Concealer: I Wore This Combo for 12 Hours — Here’s Every Stage
If you’ve ever wondered whether a foundation combo is actually worth the hype — or whether those “12-hour wear” claims hold up in real life — this one’s for you.
I wore the HERA Black Cushion paired with the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for a full 12 hours and photographed the results at every stage. No touch-ups. No filters. Just honest documentation.
The Products

HERA Black Cushion — one of Korea’s most iconic cushion foundations, known for its coverage-to-weight ratio. Heavy coverage that somehow doesn’t feel heavy.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer — a global staple for good reason. Creamy, blendable, and available in shades that actually work for a range of undertones.
Shade Notes
For the HERA Black Cushion, I used shade 17N1.
For NC21 skin (light-medium), the tone match was clean and even. If you prefer a slightly lifted, more luminous finish, sizing up one shade is worth considering.
For the NARS concealer, I tested two shades: Vanilla and Chantilly.
Chantilly reads as a bright ivory — roughly equivalent to a NC19 tone. On NC21 skin, it works beautifully as a highlighter-concealer hybrid on the high points of the face: bridge of the nose, center of the forehead, under-eye triangle. It brightens without going chalky.
Vanilla sits about 1 to 1.5 shades deeper than Chantilly with a subtle pink undertone. It blends seamlessly into NC21-22 skin and reads more natural for all-over concealing. For daily wear, Vanilla was the more versatile pick.
Application
HERA Black Cushion applies quickly — even with multiple layers, it doesn’t cake or feel congested on skin. For oily or combination skin types, this is a significant advantage during rushed morning routines.

After the cushion, I applied the NARS concealer on any remaining areas needing extra coverage. The two formulas layered without pilling or sliding.

The 12-Hour Wear Test
3 Hours — Outdoors

Shot in natural outdoor light. The foundation had settled into a soft, natural glow — not oily, not flat. Personally, this is actually my favorite stage. The initial powdery finish softens into something that looks more like skin.
6 Hours — iPhone 16 Pro Portrait Mode

Still holding. No visible pore congestion, no creasing around the concealer areas. The finish had shifted into a fuller, more luminous look — what you’d call a glass-skin effect without trying. Coverage remained intact.
12 Hours — Bathroom Fluorescent Lighting

This is the most honest shot — harsh overhead fluorescent light hides nothing. After 12 hours, the foundation was still largely intact. Some minor fallout from eye shadow or mascara visible on the under-eye area, but the base itself? Minimal breakdown. The difference between the 6-hour and 12-hour shots was surprisingly small.
Who This Combo Is For
This pairing works particularly well if you have oily skin, run warm, or need makeup to perform through long days without access to touch-ups. The HERA cushion alone is strong — the NARS concealer layered on top creates a noticeably more resilient base.
Individually, both products are excellent. Together, the longevity is genuinely impressive.
Honest Verdict

✅ Works well for oily skin in warm weather
✅ NARS shade range offers good flexibility for lighter skin tones
⚠️ Higher price point — both are investment pieces
⚠️ NARS is not available at Olive Young — department stores or brand counters for that one
